Introducing MP3 SELECTS, our weekly rundown of new EDM music and our updated playlists on Spotify. Check out this week’s round up below:

LP Giobbi — “Time Expands”

LP Giobbi has launched the first release on her new imprint Yes Yes Yes titled, “Time Expands.” The original track helps launch the imprint into the spotlight with a deep, chugging bassline, lo-fi synths, and the producer’s signature musicality. The new song also marks the first time Giobbi has used her own vocals on a record.

To celebrate the launch of her imprint — which draws inspiration from the producer’s early memories of attending the Oregon Country Fair and the mind-opening, feel-good ethos behind the event — LP Giobbi has announced a series of Yes Yes Yes after parties across Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Toronto, and Chicago as part of her Light Places album tour.

Spencer Brown — “Afterparty Healing”

Progressive house and techno producer Spencer Brown has released his third full-length album, Equanimity. Out via Brown’s own diviine imprint, the collection is mixed into one continuous piece and features an array of musical elite collaborations with Ezequiel Arias, ilan Bluestone, Late Night Shri, Luttrell, P.O.S. (Above & Beyond’s Paavo Siljamäki), QRION, Wilt Claybourne, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Representing the biggest period of internal growth for the producer’s psyche and maturity, Equanimity journeys listeners through a narrative of sonic exploration and levels the producer as a master within progressive house. As a cohesive piece of music, it was hard to pick one track to feature, but we found the breathtaking disc one closer “Afterparty Healing” a notable standout and beautiful arrangement that showcases the depth and serenity of the album.

Spencer Brown is supporting the release of Equanimity with his most ambitious tour yet. Launched earlier this month, Spencer is on an extensive run of North America through early 2024, with select dates featuring a unique “Divine Inspirations” live show that will present the ultimate Spencer Brown experience.
