In the modern era, distribution services push out over 60,000 new tracks every single day. How do you cut through all the noise, select what to listen to, and boost your playlist game? Introducing MP3 SELECTS, our weekly rundown of new music releases and our updated playlists on Spotify. Check out this week’s round up below:

ZHU – Changes”

ZHU’s new single “Changes” is exactly alluding to that: a mild change of direction and sneak peak into the producer’s forthcoming album, which currently has no official release date. Out via Astralwerks, the new track showcases ZHU’s distinctive vocals atop of a dramatic piano accompaniment. Spanning over four minutes, the producer reflects on how the fame and fortune affects one’s life and how it happens “all too fast” as it warps within peddling synth work and sharp percussion.

ZHU is currently in the midst of his European and UK tour for the remainder of summer before he kicks off his first North America tour in five years in September. The tour will include special guests Channel Tres at the Brooklyn Mirage and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Claptone at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and Noizu at multiple select dates.

Of The Trees – “Everglade March (VIP)”

Enter the enchanting sonic world cultivated by Of The Trees. The Denver-based producer continues to captivate listeners with a double single release on his rising label, Memory Palace. Fans of the producer will recognize “Everglade March (VIP)” as it reimagines the beloved fan-favorite track from 2018, taking it to new heights as the producer delves into deeper, oscillating bass and hard-hitting, gritty auditory landscapes. The release further demonstrates the producer’s ability to reimagine his own creations with a fresh perspective while also furthering the label’s blazing trail within the spectrum of dance music.

NGHTMRE, Big Gigantic- “Twilight (Something’s Here)”

What do you get when you combine Big Gigantic with NGHTMRE? Gigantic NGHTMRE of course. After initially collaborating on “Like That” in 2018, the ultimate collab took five years to complete an awe-striking, debut self-titled EP and its truly a force to be reckoned with. The collection of five tracks is a powerful collaboration of NGHTMRE’s monstrous bass and Big Gigantic’s funky goodness, bridging the live electronica and dubstep communities into a harmonious dreamworld. “Twilight (Something’s Here)” is a key track on the EP as it transitions through horn-based live instrumentation and backing hip-hop rhythms before dropping into head shattering bass drops.

Gigantic NGHTMRE performed their debut solo headlining performance at the Brooklyn Mirage on July 30th, giving fans a sneak peak into what’s to come at Rowdytown XI at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in September.
