MP3 SELECTS featuring EMBRZ, Benny Benassi, Township Rebellion

MP3 SELECTS : Playlists & New Music from EMBRZ, Benny Benassi x GoodBoys, Subtronics, & More

In the modern era, distribution services push out over 60,000 new tracks every single day. How do you cut through all the noise, select what to listen to, and boost your playlist game? Introducing MP3 SELECTS, our weekly rundown of new music releases and our updated playlists on Spotify. Check out this week’s round up below:

EMBRZ — “Hypnotise”

Dublin-based producer Jack Casey — aka EMBRZ — has dropped his second album, In Our Own Way, and it’s everything we could’ve wished and hoped for. Out via Lane 8’s This Never Happened label, the album wraps a beautiful arrangement of emotive dance music as each of the 11 tracks transcends tranquil melodies, soothing vocals and chill house. While previous releases focus more on a relaxed and chill sound, “Hypnotise” is a staple piece on the album that sees the producer experiment with more trance house rhythms and low-end synths. The rack is perfectly placed at the albums halfway point, which makes sense considering “Hypnotise” separates itself from the rest of the more reflective lyrics and arrangements on the album.

EMBRZ will embark on his North American tour this month through October, hitting stages in Brooklyn, Austin, Denver, Chicago, and more.

Benny Benassi, GoodBoys — “Further Away”

As if Benny Benassi could ever stop giving us the satisfaction that we want and need, the iconic producer has teamed up with chart-topping duo GoodBoys for a new summer dance floor hit track, “Further Away.” Out via Ultra Records, the trio of artists is something of a dream, as the monstrous sound production blends GoodBoys’ pop euphoria and dark energy with Benassi’s delightful fusion of house and electro. While summer begins to slow down in the eyes of time, GoodBoys and Benassi are here to ensure that we don’t slip “farther away” from the dance floor.

Township Rebellion, Victor Pilava, Roemisch — “Fantasia on a Theme”

Take a sonic journey through Rose Avenue with RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Compilation Vol. 1. The 10-track collection explores a palette of alluring sonics through experimental structures and refined production as the iconic trio showcases their label’s latest talent. The debut compilation features tracks from label favorites Modern Tales, Luke Alessi, Colyn, as well as new faces Enamour, Julya Karma, and more. It’s the collection’s ninth track that has us floored, as Township Rebellion teams up with Victor Pilava and Roemsich for a tantalizing techno soundscape on “Fantasia on a Theme.” The name itself should already indicate its eccentric sound production and darkened arrangement — a combination that will surely send you to the depths of techno and trance house.

Subtronics, HOL! — “Mind Pluck”

What do you get when you combine two of dubstep’s most prolific artists? A mind pluck. Out via Cyclops Recordings, Subtronics has finally partnered with one of his most championed artists , HOL!, and together have conjured up some head-shattering bass on their debut collab. “Mind Pluck” transcends four and half minutes that showcases both producers’ distinct sounds surrounding surging synths, sharp percussion, and an insane dose of wonky bass. It comes as no surprise then that Subtronics was recently named DJ Mag’s “Best DJ” while HOL! sold out his debut headlining tour across the country.

Levity, Lhasa Petik — “Rising Tides”

Chicago based trio Levity has released the new future-bass track “Rising Tides” and it’s the cinematic soundscape we’ve all been looking for. The track is an ode to the trio’s massive new fanbase as they come hot off the heels of their viral Electric Forest debut, earning over five million views across TikTok and Instagram. As the name implies, “Rising Tides” swirls enchanting vocals, glitchy sound design, and sparkling future-bass synth work for an overall euphoric track. The end of summer may be near, but Levity is here to remind us that there’s still power in the energy bank to go out with a bang. The new track will also mark the lead single off their forthcoming debut EP, Nowhere To Go, due out later this year.

WonkyWilla, BoyNotHome — “Dial”

Dial,” the screeching bass banger by WonkyWilla and BoyNotHome, is a restless getaway soundtrack to an extraterrestrial prison break, complete with alarming high-pitched synths signaling a crash landing on an unknown planet populated with headbangers and dubstep fanatics. Amidst their escape, WonkyWIlla and BoyNotHome stumbled upon a new home, safe from their alien pursuers and comfortably surrounded by experimental-bass gurus.
